How do I teach... an introduction to our new monthly blog!
I am super excited to introduce you to my new blog series 'How do I teach...'! This new monthly series will focus on a different objective from the UK Key Stage 2 National Curriculum for Computing each month and point you to to workshops and playful computing activities that you could use when teaching the content in your own classroom.
I know that I am not alone in spending a lot of time researching creative ideas for teaching specific areas of the curriculum.
Recently, I have noticed a trend in the kinds of questions that teachers have been asking. Namely, how they might go about teaching a particular concept, and it got me thinking... I am in a perfect position to help signpost which activities and workshops are useful for teaching a particular area of the curriculum.
Maybe you're an Early Career Teacher or you are in your teacher training year and you are looking for new ideas. Perhaps, you're a more experienced teacher looking to shake up your curriculum. Whatever your length of service, this blog is for you.
I know that I am not alone in spending a lot of time researching creative ideas for teaching specific areas of the curriculum. Hopefully, you will find this blog series a time-saver and it will inspire you with classroom-tested, creative ideas that you can use in your own classroom.
We will also signpost Digital Schoolhouse's resources wherever you need them within your own curriculum:
- Looking for a whole scheme of work? Try one of our workshops (easily adapted to be run over a standard 6 week term).
- Looking for a fun activity to complement the resources you already have? Try one of our playful computing activities to spice up your pedagogy.
Not sure where these activities could fit into your curriculum or would like to see the resources in action first? You can book a free workshop with your local Schoolhouse.
