Would you like to become a Digital Schoolhouse Lead Teacher?

We're thrilled to be accepting applications for Digital Schoolhouse 2023-2024! We’re looking for excellent schools & colleges to join us, and continue our mission of bridging the gap between education and industry to aptly equip the next generation for a digital age.

This is a chance for your school to be at the forefront of computing education by helping the next generation become confident and competent in mastering digital concepts, and exposing them to the many careers available to them in the digital industries.

Applications are now closed for the upcoming year.

So, how does this tried and tested method work?

  1. Primaries, Secondaries and FE colleges apply to join the programme. There is no cost associated with being a Schoolhouse.
  2. Successful Schoolhouses are eligible to receive a bursary up to £3000 to support delivery of the programme, alongside resources, accredited CPD and training from us along the way.
  3. Schoolhouses deliver curriculum-aligned Computing workshops to local Primary schools.

Primary pupils and teachers are taught simple, accessible methods for delivering Computer Science in class, through participation in workshop(s). Primary teachers feel more equipped and empowered to deliver Computer Science, sharing what they have learnt with their colleagues.

Tony Gilbert, experienced Lead Teacher at New College Swindon, said

For us, getting involved with Digital Schoolhouse was a no brainer. It has enabled us to engage with local primary schools, and to help close the gender gap within computing education, but it has provided us with so much more. The continuing professional development (CPD) training that teachers like me receive through the programme is exceptional! We have been trained by industry experts, and all for free, which is another huge benefit for any schools trying to navigate reduced funding or budget cuts.

Moreover, we have a wealth of benefits including free entry to our renowned esports tournament, free hardware loans (each Schoolhouse receives a Nintendo Switch when taking part), free software (Schoolhouses have previously received free class sets of Ubisoft's Discovery Tour), links with industry specialists, access to accredited CPD events & training opportunities, and so much more.

Digital Schoolhouse is also a fantastic and unique opportunity to network nationally with other Schoolhouses and locally with schools in your community.

We deliver accredited CPD events for teachers up to four times a year - an excellent opportunity to network with likeminded teachers across the UK!
