Schoolhouse of the month: London South East Colleges

Author: Sophia Aker, programme coordinator

We are lucky to work with some of the most creative and ingenious teachers you can find. Here, you'll discover the amazing work that our Schoolhouse do. Each month we'll be featuring one of our Schoolhouses, so you can learn more about this amazing community of schools and colleges.

Our next schoolhouse is the wonderful London South East Colleges. With over 3 years on the programme, Lead Teacher Peter gives us his bitesize take on being a part of the programme. Learn more about LSEC below!

1) How long have you been a DSH?

I have been with DSH for over 6 months as a new Media/Esports teacher, but the college has been with you for three years now.

2) What video game/ game are you currently enjoying?

I play a lot of games, but I have recently gone back to playing The Division and Division 2, but i am also currently started playing Crusader Kings III.

3) What do you love about being a teacher?

I love the learning with the students and being able to teach subjects I really enjoy and are meaningful to their progression.

4) Favourite light-bulb or creative moment as teacher?

A Technical and Creative moment was teaching a new application such as Unity, where the students had to learn code to enable their character to walk, jump and run.  All of them got it. Light-bulbs were turned on when they understood what the code meant and could manipulate it so that their character would do what they programmed it to do!

5) What are you most looking forward to this year as a Schoolhouse?

I am looking forward to the tournament, and the chance to see what my students do best.
