About

These Get Smart About P.L.A.Y. resources have been developed in collaboration with Ask About Games, to raise learners' understanding of safe and sensible play. This scheme of work is bursting with expertise and insightful information to equip learners with information about key topics around modern games - including age ratings, in-game spend and managing screen time - to ensure they are ready to play in a healthy way.

Within, you'll find lesson packs which cover PEGI ratings, financial literacy, setting ground rules and developing online resilience. Each of these lessons are embedded into scenarios that are relevant to students current interests while teaching vital skills for the adult world.

While the curriculum material within this scheme of work is suitable for all ages, please be aware that the video games used in this context are rated PEGI 3, PEGI 7 and PEGI 12 which means they are suitable for ages listed only. For more information about PEGI ratings, please visit Ask About Games or the Video Standards Council Rating Board.

If you have any questions about the resource, please get in touch with the team: dsh@ukie.org.uk.
